Agricultural Extension, Research and Teaching
The mission of the Government Affairs office of the College of Food, Agricultural and Environmental Sciences is to position OSU Extension and the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center (OARDC) as valued investments that are worthy of continued and strong support from elected officials. To fulfill this mission, the office advocates for funding and other legislation that positively effects the organizations, develops and involves volunteer leaders who have the skills and are positioned to help in advocacy efforts, conduct events that provide volunteer advocates the opportunity to support and raise funds to pay for advocacy and lobbying efforts. The unit also serves as a resource for FAES faculty, staff and administration by providing information and assistance on governmental-related issues that affect the College.
