Federal Relations at Ohio State

The Office of Federal Relations at Ohio State represents the University by building and maintaining relationships with members of Congress, their staff, and federal agency administrators to shape and respond to legislative, regulatory and budget actions affecting the higher education community.  Activities include monitoring legislation of interest to Ohio State and higher educational institutions, identifying emerging issues, recommending strategies and advocating the University's position.

The Office also serves as a resource for faculty, staff and students by providing assistance and information on matters affecting the University community.

Stacy Rastauskas

Assistant Vice President - Federal Relations, Washington Office

Stacy represents the University by building and maintaining relationships with members of Congress, their staff and federal agency administrators; identifying emerging issues, recommending strategies, and advocating the University's position; developing an on-campus resource network of University faculty and administrators; tracking and analyzing federal issues and proposals and informing faculty, students, and administrators about University advocacy efforts and status of federal initiatives to assure that Ohio State priorities at the federal level are understood and represented.

Richard S. Stoddard

Associate Vice President

Richard is a liaison on University and higher education issues with the Ohio Congressional Delegation, federal agencies, the State of Ohio Office in Washington, D.C., and national and regional higher education organizations.  He works closely with higher education associations to shape and respond to legislative, regulatory, and budget actions affecting Ohio State and the higher education community.  He works on the coordination of responses to federal policies, and with administrators and faculty on the development of federal initiatives for the University.

Mike Kerrigan

Staff Assistant for Washington Office

Mike manages the daily office operations providing administrative staff support. He supports activities and initiatives to develop and maintain federal, congressional and educational relationships for the University.

Barbara A. Knight

Staff Associate for Federal Government and Fiscal Officer

Barbara manages the daily office operations providing administrative staff support.   She supports activities and initiatives to develop and maintain federal, congressional and educational relationships for the University.   Barbara also handles the fiscal operations for the office.
