Ohio Supercomputer Center

The Ohio Board of Regents established the Ohio Supercomputer Center (OSC) in 1987 to position Ohio’s universities and industries at the forefront of high performance computing, networking and serves as a research catalyst.  OSC facilitates innovations in education and research, improves the state’s competitiveness for federal dollars, and promotes industry/academic partnerships to advance Ohio’s economic development.

OSC’s High Performance Computing (HPC) Division has fulfilled state researchers’ needs for fast processors and large data storage.  OSC’s HPC Division supports faculty with nationally leading programs in distributed computing, statewide software licensing, scientific visualization and educational outreach.  OARnet, OSC’s networking division, is one of the leading regional Internet Service Providers (ISP) in the world.  OARnet connects nearly 100 colleges and universities throughout the state, as well as government agencies and nonprofit institutions.
